چکیده
Greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions are widely related to climate change, triggering several environmental problems of global concern and producing environmental, social, economic negative impacts. Therefore, research seeks mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. On the other hand, use wastes under a circular economy scheme generates subproducts from range high medium-value, representing way help sustainable development. wastewater as culture medium grow microalgae strains that biocapture CO2, is proposal with potential reduce GHG presence in environment. In this work, Scenedesmus sp. was cultivated using BG-11 industrial (IWW) three different CO2 concentrations, 0.03%, 10%, 20% determine their potential. Furthermore, concomitant removal COD, nitrates, total phosphorus evaluated. achieves biomass concentration 1.9 g L?1 when grown medium, 0.69 combination 25% wastewater; both cases supplied. The maximum efficiency (8.4%, 446 ± 150 mg day?1) obtained 10% supplied 50% IWW (T2). Also, highest COD reached T2 supply (82% removal). Besides, nitrates achieved 75% (T3) (42% removal) TP performed (T1) (67% These results indicate can be used media for growth processes.

A series of experiments were carried out with three native strains of microalgae to measure growth rates, biomass, and lipid productivities. Scenedesmus sp. IMMTCC-6 had better biomass growth rate and higher lipid production. The growth, lipid accumulation, and carbon dioxide (CO2) consumption rate of Scenedesmus sp. IMMTCC-6 were tested under different NaOH concentrations in modified BBM. The ...

BACKGROUND Simultaneous wastewater treatment and lipid production by oleaginous microalgae show great potential to alleviate energy shortage and environmental pollution, because they exhibit tremendous advantages over traditional activated sludge. Currently, most research on wastewater treatment by microalgal are carried out at optimized temperature conditions (25-35 °C), but no information abo...

The interaction of microorganisms with pollutants has opened up new vistas to an exciting field of research for environmentalists. The unprecedented interest in bioremediation and its applications stems from the failure of aggressive and invasive treatment methods that disturb ecosystems by cleaning them with unnecessary quantities of chemicals. Therefore, the use of microorganisms represents a...
